Sophie Rein (nom d’artiste: Sophia) est née à Paris en 1971. Elle a grandi entre Munich et le Sud de la France. Depuis sa plus jeune enfance, le travail de sa mère, elle même artiste peintre et portraitiste, l’a toujours fascinée. Sa mère l’a toujours encouragée dans sa passion pour la peinture et elle l’a initiée très tôt à la technique du couteau, devenue sa technique préférée.

Elle a étudié en Sciences Politiques et en Droits des Affaires à Strasbourg (France) avant de travailler dans les Ressources Humaines et dans la Communication à Francfort (Allemagne). Sa formation et son parcours professionnel ont joué un rôle important dans l’évolution de son travail d’artiste peintre et lui ont permis de garder une certaine indépendance. Nomade, Sophie Rein, a vécu à Munich, à Paris, à Strasbourg, à Lyon, à Nice, à Wiesbaden et maintenant au Luxembourg. Autant d’endroits qui l’ont influencée et qui ont contribué à nourrir son inspiration. La naissance de sa première fille en 2004 a joué un rôle déterminant dans son processus de réflexion, notamment sur le sens de la vie. Une réflexion qui l’a poussée à choisir la voie artistique en 2006.

En 2009, après de nombreuses expositions, elle choisit de joindre le Collectif International d’Artistes Art Zoom (CIAAZ) pour son ouverture internationale.

BIOGRAPHY

Sophie Rein (artist name: Sophia) was born in Paris in 1971. She grew up in Munich and the south of France. Since her early childhood, the work of her mother, artist and portrait painter herself, has always fascinated her. Her mother always encouraged Sophie in her passion for painting and she taught her oil painting (practiced with knife or spatula) very early. This technique became her favourite one. 

She studied in political sciences and in corporate (business) law in Strasbourg (France) before working in human resources and communication in Frankfort (Germany). Her education and her career played an important role in the development of her work as artist painter and gave her a certain independence. Being a traveller, Sophie Rein, lived in Munich, Paris, Strasbourg, Lyon, Nice, Wiesbaden and now she lives in Luxemburg city. These cities have influenced and have helped to feed her inspiration. The birth of her first daughter in 2004 played a decisive role in her reflection process, especially on the meaning of life. A thinking that pushed her to choose the path of art in 2006. 

In 2009, after numerous art exhibitions, she chose to join the International Collective of Artists Art Zoom (CIAAZ) for an international opening.
